What is meditation....???
Meditation has been defined by many illuminated sages in many ways. Some say it is transcedence of mind. some say it is continueous flow of thoughts towards a particular object of concentration so on and so forth. I have met many people who claim that they can meditate for many hours at a stretch. They say they mediate in a river, a scene, God and so on. I asked them how do you get into meditation, most answered that thier thoughts from the beganing to the end were on the object of meditation. Let me be candid and with due respects to those who told me so this is not meditation. In sanskrit it is called Pratyahara or abstraction of senses.
Meditation is something one cannot force ones self into, it ensues. That is why meditation must be learnt from a qualified Guru, then only the meditations will become meaningful and fruitful. Getting into meditation is a technique, meditations become meaningful only after initiation of the Guru, also divine grace for this is a must. Remember God is one, do not be biased in your way of thinking and during meditations. The wider the spectrum of your thought greater will be the power of your assimilation. buy r4 ds |

RE: What is meditation....???
There are many misconceptions behind what meditation is, but there is nothing but the contemplation and practice of mind to concentrate on one thing, the object of meditation. This may be a specific statement or a prayer, or sound, an image of a Buddha say, a candle, which own breathing, or many other phenomena.
